Photo Studio
If you are interested in photography, the photo studio is the place for you.
Book a 50mins long session with a professional grade DSLR camera and then edit your photos using a top of the range iMac computer.
Sadly we can't let you take the camera off site (yet), but there are plenty of interesting spots in the church for photo shoots and several professional backdrops are available on request, including blue screen.

What to Expect
When you arrive for your first session you will be given a brief tutorial on how to use the camera and computer.
Once the tutorial is complete you have 50mins to work on your own project, with support available if needed.
At the end of the session you will be offered the opportunity to save your project, either on the SJP Youth Club hard drive or on your own memory stick / hard drive.
Please note, we will wipe all the project data from the computer at the end of each session, so please be sure to save any work you wish to keep to an external drive.
Hints and Tips
-
Plan your project before you arrive, time can go quickly once you start work on a project.
-
Don't forget to save your work to an external drive at the end of the session!!! We can not emphasise this strongly enough.
-
Have a look at the camera manual before the session or watch a tutorial video online, the camera can do a lot more than most phone cameras. Click here for manual, click here for tutorial video.
-
Think about the formatting of your project. The photos you edit will need to be exported as jpegs if you wish to share then with friends and family.
-
Ask a team member for help if you are not sure about something.
-
Don't be afraid to try new ideas and approaches when taking photos.
-
Please wear the neck strap if walking around with the camera. The camera is very sensitive and would break if dropped.
-
We aim to give you complete freedom over the content you edit, but if you are found to be editing highly offensive (e.g. pornographic, violent) or illegal material we will terminate your session and delete all files.
