Do you hope to be the next Oscar winning director or a YouTube sensation? Maybe your dreams to create a music video to accompany the single you produced in the SJP Youth Club recording studio, or simply to have the best Tik Tok clips online!
If you can dream it, we can help you make it a reality, with our high definition camera, radio microphones, lighting equipment, blue screen, professional backdrops, iMac and choice of video editing software, the sky is the limit for your project!
What to Expect
When you arrive for your first session a member of the SJP Youth Club team will have a chat with you about your planned project and discuss the best way forward.
You will then be given a brief tutorial on how to use the camera, microphones, lighting equipment, backdrops, computer and editing software.
Once the tutorial is complete you have 50mins to work on your own project, with support available if needed.
At the end of the session you will be offered the opportunity to save your project, either on the SJP Youth Club hard drive or on your own memory stick / hard drive.
Please note, we will wipe all the project data from the computer at the end of each session, so please be sure to save any work you wish to keep to an external drive.
Hints and Tips
Filming a project can be complicated and it can be easy to lose track of where you are up to, especially if filming over multiple sessions. Why not try creating a basic story board before you start to help keep you on track. Click here for an example.
Don't forget to save your work as you go along!! A shared external hard drive is available if you don't have a personal memory stick.
Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it, a team member will always be around to offer support.
If you will be needing lights, blue screen etc, letting us know in advance will allow us to prepare the equipment before you arrive, this will maximise the time available to you during your session. You can do this via the chat section on this website.
Think about formatting. If you are wishing to share your project with your friends and family, you will need to export your project before the end of your session. Be sure to allow time for this process and a team member will be around to help, if you need support.
Remember this is a learning curve. The software we use is fairly intuitive but takes a little time to get used to. If you need a lot of support during the first session don't get discouraged, you're learning an important new skill!
We aim to give you as much freedom as possible to explore your project, but if anyone is creating any highly offensive material SJP Youth Club reserves the right to suspend the session and delete all content relating to the session.
